7 Signs of a Self-Saboteur
A self-saboteur is hell-bent on destroying their happiness.
"Why would you do that? Why would you go over there? You know, that's what she does. That's all they do on the weekends," I didn't want to judge her.
"I thought it wouldn't be a problem. It was one glass of wine. I didn't even finish it," my friend said.
"I'm not judging. You said this was your year of sobriety. What? Why are you looking at me like you want me to say something?" I asked her.
"Nah, I'm just like, why did I go over there? I was doing so well."
"You know why," I said.
"What?" She tried to play dumb.
"She teased you a couple of weeks ago and called you a killjoy. You went over there to prove you weren't," I said.
"You spare no edges, do you?" She chuckled.
While this may be considered a milder story of self-sabotage, I don't think anyone should ever take self-sabotage lightly.
Many don't always recognize it, but there is a path that leads to self-destruction. It begins when some take a stroll down the self-sabotage lane. Practice self-sabotage enough, and we can become well-trained in self-destruction.
