A Hedonistic Heart Can Be Beautiful
Should we judge a heart that delights in pleasure?
A hedonistic heart, oft deemed a flaw
Yet beauty in its pleasure-seeking lies
Dear, life is short, and joy should be law
Oh, savor the heat of this moment ‘fore it dies
No need to live a life of constant restraint
To deny yourself of all that’s sweet
Pleasures great or small, we should not taint
They make our lives complete
Shun, not a heart seeking pleasures of the flesh
’Cause it too has warmth and light and grace
It beats with passion, never to enmesh
In dull routines of life devoid of taste
So let us not judge those who seek delight
For a hedonistic heart can also shine bright.
Some schools of spiritualism teach that God made man so that God may experience the pleasures of life — pleasures such as:
- Eating delicious food.
- Listening to beautiful music.
- Making love.
- Watching a glorious sunset.
