Building an Audience here on Medium can be frustrating. No matter how much research I do, there are times I am shocked a story doesn’t do better simply on it’s own. Then I would see the strangest story get hundreds of responses. Readers gather around it, and flock to it. And I’m thinking “what? why?”

Since I’ve had to draw back from my Newsletter due to a long list of other projects, I do sometimes wonder about really honing in on a Newsletter and speeding up the official launch of my blog. I will still be on Medium, but repurposing some content and building authority elsewhere.

If some of my research is correct, I’m not ready to release it yet, Medium tends to give “People” under this Topic priority to those who have published books, large social media followings, and/or a blog or a website.

Ultimately they give clout to Medium and Medium gives clout to them. There are little boosts around here.
