Do You Take Other People's Kindness as Weakness?
If so, grow up, or you will be left with nothing but meanies one day.
"It's a mommies' group," my friend explained. "We give each other breaks. I may take a friend's kids for a playdate and give a Sis a three-hour break. The agreement is for three hours.
Then someone takes my kids for three hours. We have a schedule and everything, but one girl in the group just won't do right." She took a deep breath.
"Three hours for her is 5 or 6 hours and a mouth full of lies and excuses. Then, when it's her turn, she can't this week. I'm trying, Carm. I'm really trying because she's young and —" her voice trailed off as she took another deep breath.
"She's overstepping on purpose?" I asked.
"She is, no doubt about it. I think we'll have to have a little, what you call it, tête-à-tête with homegirl because she can't continue doing this," she said, shaking her head and playing with her bagel.
