The Father watched as his children sleep
Daily, He dried tears they did not weep
He counted the days his fear ran deep
Mother came and asked him to let go
The father forcefully said no
Mother said stifled seeds cannot grow
The eldest screamed “Father I can’t breathe”
But the father continued to cleave
He held them tight so they would not leave

Seeing his ways golden in his mind
Still, mother knew it was beyond time
To allow them to spread their wings and climb
Muffled in his love and embrace
Time played tricks in a holding space
The nest became a dreaded place
The eldest screamed “Father I can’t breathe”
The Father’s mind could not believe
New patterns time had already weaved

Banged iron fists on silver breastplate
Had played its time in toroidal fate
Sons and daughter wouldn’t maintain his estate
’Cause seeds produce new flowers in spring
Heaven orchestrates new songs to sing
But…
