The Father watched as his children sleep
Daily, He dried tears they did not weep
He counted the days his fear ran deep
Mother came and asked him to let go
The father forcefully said no
Mother said stifled seeds cannot grow
The eldest screamed “Father I can’t breathe”
But the father continued to cleave
He held them tight so they would not leave
