Friends With Benefits: Why I Chose to Become a Friend of Medium
Is this the beginning of a greater User Experience?
I became a Friend of Medium today and I’m excited about it. Under the leadership of Tony Stubblebine, I think the platform has improved the User experience. So far, this user is pretty happy with the incentives Medium offers their users.
That’s right, we’re talking friends with benefits.
But to truly understand why I’m happy about these benefits, we have to go back in time…
It was around April of 2022, many of the writers on Medium were confused about discovery, read ratio, and yes, earnings. Sure, there were those folks who made YouTube Videos bragging about making a hundred dollars a day on the platform, but when you looked for their profiles, they didn’t have a presence at all. And I found that rather sleazy.
