When I was in the Traditional Southern Missionary Baptist Church, I would see this a lot. Heard every "a man will be a man." And all the "a woman's place is in the home." I had defiant women around me, Thank Goodness. But why were they seen as "defiant?"

If using one's voice makes you defiant, I say, be defiant.
