I am so sorry this happened to your family. Often times its not just financial woes that can end a marriage. There are other things. But financial irresponsibility can be a tipping point. My first stepdad was highly irresponsible with money and my mom would always be the one cleaning things up. But he was irresponsible in other areas as well.
