Fully Vaccinated, Didn’t Have a Super-Spreader Christmas, and I Shopped Online but I Have Covid.

What did I get for Christmas this year? I got a gift card to Sephora, a really pretty sweater, some cute snow boots, a fabulous anklet for spring and summer, and oh, yeah apparently somewhere between December 25 and 26, I got covid.

I felt a little tired on Christmas night after 4 friends came over for a vegan Christmas meal. Since I no longer live in my hometown, a handful of friends like to come by and enjoy some of my vegan cuisines. That could have been the day I contracted it.

Later that night, I was tired. Thought it was because I had spent the day cooking and preparing food. That wasn’t it.

Then, I felt like hell. So I went to get tested on the 27th and found out I had covid. Now for the last two to three days, symptoms have crept in fever coughing, headache, and body aches — the body aches are the worst.

I wrote this to say, take every precaution you can because this is terrible. I don’t ever remember feeling so bad. I’ve coughed so much that my ribs feel like I have been in the boxing ring with Floyd Mayweather.

What makes this so strange is, I am embarking on my Year of Healing — that’s my New Years Resolution. Well, well, who would have been believed it would be put to the test.

I want to say to each of you who read this (before I get to my couch and go back to sleep), please take care of yourselves. Do whatever you can to protect yourself and your family because this is awful.
