I remember when my first nephew hit puberty. He was my baby and I almost cried when I heard the crack in his voice at 11. Then at 13, he had this very thin hair on his top lip. You could only see it in sunlight but because he's a "fair-skinned" black boy it showed slightly. And I wanted to pass out. All I can think is "oh my God one day he's gonna be a man."
