I think we have to consider our "growth hacking" practices when it involves engagement. The algorithm is set for what is considered normal engagement. It's not normal to read, clap, and comment on 100 stories a day. If the average story is 4 minutes that's 400 minutes not including the time it takes to clap and comment. That means one has spent a entire work day (8 hours). So I can see how it looks "Bot-ish." And yeah, in your circle you may have someone who reads this way and we'll feel it when these folks slow down.
