I was just having a conversation with my bestie about this. When we cut ties with someone or what I call cutting the spiritual cord (and it can very well be physical too), they are always looking for a point of entry back into our lives.

They may do it through a person or they may send messages they know will upset us. As long as they know they are occupying space in our minds or in our lives they seem to get off on it.

I couldn't imagine having to cut ties with my mom, but when someone is toxic, you have to do what you have to do for your own sanity and mental health.
