I write and perform. I find both to be healing. The battles happen in my journal but when the words reach public eyes, there is peace, clarity.

As a writer, I live by Ms. Octavia E. Butlers quote from The Parable of the Sower:

“I'm trying to speak--to write-the truth. I"m trying to be clear. I'm not interested in being fancy, or even original. Clarity and truth will be plenty, if I can only achieve them.”

As a performer, I write what I perform. Writing helps me speak, otherwise I wouldn't have much to say.
