I'm glad you called the police. I received faked traveler checks in the mail at the amount of $500 once and was instructed to deposited them in my bank account and send cash of the amount to a specific person and address. I took them to the bank and told them I believe this is a scam. They told me to take them to the police because while they were traveler checks, the denomination had been changed. They were 10 $50 traveler checks that had been changed to 10 $500 travelers checks.
