I'm originally from Louisiana. And about 5 miles from where I grew up is a wildlife refuge. These places exists not just for human entertainment but also as havens where wildlife can thrive without the threat of habitat destruction or hunting.

Biodiversity is another, we're losing so many species that have valuable genetic resources.

And for about 3 years in my hometown, it was normal for some folks to see a black bear in their yards.
