It's hard saying no and it's hard saying yes. Radical Self-Care principles contend we must refill our cup first and give from the overflow. But sometimes that's easier said than done. I understand. I was in an almost identical situation 3 years ago. As one who is shame-prone. I beat myself up because I no longer wanted to be the one who cleaned up everyone's messes. I didn't want to be a superhero anymore. I just wanted peace and time and space to do the things I loved. Prioritizing ourselves and our mental health doesn't make us bad people. Instead, prioritizing your happiness and mental health makes you healthy.
