Love The Woman You’re Becoming
Essay and poem on self-love — We develop in womanhood over time physically, emotionally, and mentally. When we love ourselves first, loving relationships help us to blossom boldly and beautifully.
Love is perpetual. Someone loved us. We took that love into our being in our youth. We nurtured it and it became self-love. We nurture self-love in time and it blossomed and fed our womanhood. And as we share that love with our partners it grows and grows into a beautiful garden.
But it’s all in time. We may think we are ready for love and passion and desire, but perhaps what we need are compassion and maturation. We need to sit in our love for ourselves and bathe in it for a little while before we invite someone else into our lives.
Womanhood requires we be patient with our growth and development.
With this in heart and mind, I present to you:
A Woman in Time
Learned about time today
Didn’t know what to say
Saw what I could be
if you were with me
Get through the maze
and enjoy my days
I’d shed the lie
and recover why
I decided to flip
Write a new script
Are you the man?
Help me understand
