Medium is much like YouTube. The only thing is Medium doesn't do ads and their search isn't as strong as YouTube. But if you have followers and are rewarded according to engagement then it's a social media platform. It runs on feeds and you can set up profiles and engage with others, post content. it's user driven. All the social media stuff.
