Nothing is Easy to the Unwilling…
Are you giving up before you try?
“Nothing is easy to the unwilling.”
― Nikki Giovanni
The worst type of self-sabotage is when you give up before you try. Watching a loved one or a person you care about give up on their personal success in life is hard to do.
You can encourage. You can be the best cheerleader in the world, but they won’t go beyond their comfort zone — what they think they know to be true.
I had to learn to let go. Let my loved ones and people I knew my whole life find their way. I had to take that energy and invest it in creating the life I want to live.
I didn’t realize how carrying around pom-poms to make someone else feel better was draining me of my life force energy. Hell yes, I needed that energy for the times when my confidence was in the dumps, and I didn’t feel good about myself and my accomplishments.
As it happens, when I embarked on my year of redirecting my life in late 2019, I ran across a concept called “The Fixed Mindset.” It helped me realize I’d made the right decision to let go and allow people to find their own way. I can encourage and support but it’s not my journey.
