Oh, yes, I realize how dismissive this can be.

Sometimes, people refer to being overly optimistic as toxic positivity. Positivity isn’t poisonous, but it can inadvertently be used to your detriment. For example, if a friend wants you to be supportive because they have a problem, and you force positivity onto them, you disregard their true feelings. Your relationship will suffer, and your friend will feel misunderstood.
