Please Stop Asking Me If I'm Watching House of the Dragons.
Is this a form of Groupthink, or is everyone really into this show?
Do I have to do a thing just because everyone is doing it? No. That’s so high-school.
Do I have to watch a show because everyone else is watching it?
If one more person asks me what I think of the new HBO series House of the Dragons, I think I will lose my sh*t. I'm not a fan. I didn't watch Game of Thrones. I only scanned a few of George R.R. Martin's bestselling, fictional, medieval tales.
The books weren't my thing, and neither are the two teleplay series.
I only wanted a cup of green sencha tea, but all I heard was HOT-D topics. I couldn't wait to get out of line.
"Hey, Carm. I know you're watching," one of my neighbors said with a big grin. He and I had a few conversations about our favorite books and movies.
"Nope," I said, grinning back.
"What?"
It felt as if everyone in line turned around and looked at me simultaneously. I stood there clutching the scarf around my neck.
Did I say something wrong?
