Quarantined and Dangerous: When the Weekend Doesn’t End
I’m introspective, but not all introverted. I get my charge from social environments and yeah sometimes I need to be alone to contemplate, breathe. Well, Covid says social environments are off the table. So, as an ambivert personality with a hell of an imagination, I have to find clever ways to entertain myself, or I can be dangerous. Hey, no need to call Homeland Security. I’m a harmless menace.

Your Weekend Doesn’t End
Since the worldwide quarantine has been in full effect, it feels as if the weekend doesn’t end. Okay, you tell yourself, get out of bed and get your day started, but somedays your body doesn’t listen. So, you grab your laptop and work from bed. It’s still work, right? Your rational mind whispers, “Hey we’re only supposed to do this after a long hard week. It’s not the weekend.”
Your Appearance May Offend
You look in the mirror and realize you had your hair in a scrunchy for three straight days. “Girl your edges are a shame,” you say after finally building up the courage to look in the mirror.
“You’ve broken all the Pretty Black Girl Rules. You’re only allowed to do this one weekend a month. What are you doing?” Okay…
