The investment on Medium is time, frequency, consistency, and content. Write good stories that people can relate to. Engage with other writers on the platform. And write frequently and consistently. I will be writing more on the subject this week.

But if you can focus for the first 3 months on writing consistently, reading others peoples stories (at least 10 per day), clap, highlight and comment and publish stories at least 3 times a week. You will grow.
