Well, I've always been the type to speak up. And when there is injustice, I don't mind a good sparring. One of the unfortunate things about University life is it's not sealed away from the foolishness we experience in civilian life--sexism, racism, colorism, and even ageism. Anyone who says college doesn't prepare you for real life clearly never went.
My technical writing professor was a pure jackass. He'd crack sexist jokes and back then, there wasn't a "me too" anything. Just me. But I reported him. And discovered, this wasn't the first complaint or the third for that matter. He thought because he had tenure, he was untouchable. It took 3 quarters (Louisiana Tech University had quarters instead of semesters) but others continue to complain and got that jackass out of there.
