…love yourself anyway.

Self-Care isn’t an Offense” designed by Author (Carmellita) in Canva

No one tells you that self-love will require that you stop caring what others think of you and love yourself despite it. When we began the practice of Radical Self-love and Radical Self-Care, there will be people in our space who will become jealous and envious.

Don’t take it personally. It is a natural human response when you see your fellow human having a joyous experience you may have been denying yourself.

“Even if it makes others uncomfortable, I will love who I am.” — Janelle Monáe

I have no problem telling it on myself. And here’s my truth. Each time I’ve ever felt a twinge of envy or jealousy, it has been because I’ve seen someone doing or experiencing something I’ve denied myself.

Either I’ve convinced myself it isn’t right to do it, I have to wait to do it, or I have convinced myself it isn’t possible for me to do it.

And then when I see it can be done, I don’t have to wait, there’s nothing wrong with it, I’m disappointed and hurt that I didn’t try and continue to try. Nothing nefarious in my heart, but the emotion of envy springs forth.
