Who’s Reading You Online?
Do you know?
Have you ever thought about who could be reading your story days after you click publish and share your words with people from all walks of life? Have you wondered what stories moved them, made them laugh, provoked a thought?
I hate to sound like a cliche, but you never know.
Yesterday, I received a call from my 15-year-old niece (goodness where has the time gone). She was giggling hard. She could hardly stop. “Who’s chicken now, TT*?” She said still laughing.
I hadn’t caught on to the joke. What was she giggling so hard about? So, I asked. “What’s this about a chicken?”
She laughed even harder.
“I read your story about the big waterslide,” she said as her giggles subsided.
“Oh,” I said. “You read that?”
“I was thinking about you, so I looked you up online, she explained.
“Mom said you were on Instagram but wasn’t really posting much. I said that sounds like TT. She likes to keep it low-key,” she said with a chuckle.
The kid is right. I do like to keep it low-key.
“I read the story about R.J. and then I read about the big waterslide,” she continued.
