Yes, I think we have diminished the power of face to face in the past decade. If we want to build better connections, we have to return to smaller events and meetups. That’s how we build real connections. And yes, WordPress.org is a lot of work. Self-hosting your blog can be done alone for a while but eventually you will need a team.
