Yes, this was my first attempt at Haiku last month. I enjoyed creating and writing them.

A zappai, on the other hand, is the Japanese term for haiku-like poems that have no theme restrictions i.e. they can be about anything. Even better, they are locked into a 5–7–5 syllable-line count which, being the syllable-conformist I am, suits me to a T — or a Z — whichever the case may be (sorry couldn’t resist the rhyme)! 😅
