You have made several points I agree with. If you don't like it, don't read it. So simple. But as you say we need that variety on the platform. No one wants to read dissertations and theses. Some writers are good at stirring controversy. Some writers write the best feel good stories. Some writers can move you to tears. Still, some can make you burst into laughter in the middle of a quiet cafe or library. And yes, some will make more money doing it. Such is writing life.
