Life Experience Writers Have a Lot to Teach Us. Don’t Undermine Their Powerful Voices.
Put Some Respect on Their Work.
Writing is an art form, a talent, an ability, and a skill set. And from a heartfelt perspective, it’s a gift. It’s a lot that can be taught about how to write well. We can get the techniques down to a science.
Still, we can’t teach real connection. However, since I’ve been writing here on this platform, I’ve noticed passion wins over perfection.
Some of the best and most engaging stories have been from Life Experience writers. What is a Life Experience writer? A Life Experience writer is a writer that shares their life experiences in stories, poems, and personal essays.
They have mastered the art of storytelling through self-expression, relatability, vulnerability, and passion. Many Life Experience Writers can pull you into a story so deep that you’ll highlight the entire story and leave a comment long enough to be its own post.
It takes vulnerability to write from this perspective, and it’s more binge-worthy than a new Netflix series.
As such, this is why I get so mad when I see the “real writer” posts on this platform. Who gets to decide? Where is this Real Writers of the World Association, and who’s on the board?
