The Storyteller As A Writer, Thought Leader, and Content Creator
You are a writer. You are a Content Creator. You are a Storyteller. (updated August 2022)
I took a break from social media for eight years and worked as a ghostwriter. Without any credit, I wrote ebooks, blog posts, and articles for various publications about personal development, productivity, hip-hop, relationships, and the vegan lifestyle.
I rarely posted anything online in my name. I didn't because I wasn't sure I could build an audience writing about the stuff that thrills me.
While working as a freelance ghostwriter, I spent time refreshing my skills in the art and field of Storytelling. Specifically, I was concentrating on Storytellers as Thought Leadership. I also focused on the Scholarship of Storytelling. Working in this field seasonally, the Louisiana Endowment of Humanities named me a Literary Scholar through one of their Literacy Programs.
Moreover, as I learned about this evolution in Storytelling, my ideas about Storytelling expanded, leading me to identify the correlation between Storytelling and online content creation.
I pondered the idea, could I become a Content Creator? Do I have what it takes to build an audience around concepts and ideas that are important to them?
